Appleton Public LibraryThe Library is located in Downtown Appleton at 225 N. Oneida Street, one block north of College Avenue, between Washington and Franklin streets. For more details and driving directions see below.

Directions to the Library

Hwy 41 South to APL
(from Green Bay)

  • 41 South to Richmond Street exit.
  • Turn LEFT (south) onto Richmond Street off the ramp.
  • Continue on Richmond through the Northland Avenue intersection (past the Northland Mall).
  • Continue on Richmond through the Wisconsin Avenue intersection.
  • Turn LEFT on Franklin Street (just after Richmond Terrace [a large yellow building] and an Express gas station on the corner).
  • On Franklin, go three lights down to Appleton Street; turn RIGHT on Appleton Street. You'll see the city of Appleton parking lot in front of the Library immediately on your LEFT. Parking is metered and limited to 2 hours.
  • To get to the parking ramp for $2/day do not turn on Appleton St. but stay on Franklin through Appleton St. and Oneida Street intersections. Turn RIGHT into the parking ramp (after the bus station). You will pay $2 as you enter the ramp.

Hwy 41 North to APL
(from Milwaukee)

  • 41 North to College Avenue exit .
  • Turn RIGHT (east) onto College Ave. off the ramp.
  • Continue on College Ave. until you get to the downtown area. You will pass by the Performing Arts Center and go under the walk-way for the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel.
  • Turn LEFT on Superior Street.
  • Go one block and turn RIGHT on Washington Street.
  • For the city of Appleton parking lot in front of the Library, proceed one block and turn LEFT off of Washington St. onto Appleton Street. Proceed into parking lot on the right. Parking is metered and limited to 2 hours.
  • For the parking ramp for $2/day do not turn off of Washington Street onto Appleton Street but rather continue on Washington past the bus station and turn LEFT into the parking ramp. You will pay $2 as you enter the ramp.


Parking at the Library

  • 3 hour metered parking is available at the library. Metered parking is generally 25¢ for 20 minutes (red meters near the front of the building are 25¢ for 15 minutes). Meters are enforced until 9 pm.
  • Park all day for $2.00  in the East Parking Ramp (the other side of Valley Transit). Enter the parking ramp from either Washington or Franklin Streets and deposit your $2.00. When you want to exit, the gates will simply open -- there's no ticket to keep track of.
