Did You Know? Meet Wisconsin Authors Series: The Sanvidge Sisters

Did You Know? Meet Wisconsin Author Series

Remember green Jell-O with pineapple tidbits? How about sliced cucumber pickles? Take a trip down memory lane at Appleton Public Library’s lower level meeting room with the Sanvidge Sisters, authors of Apple Betty & Sloppy Joe and Penny Loafers & Bobby Pins on Monday, March 11 at 4:00pm.

The Sanvidge sisters are Baby Boomers who grew up in Oshkosh. Their books help us reminisce about the fragrance of bread baking in the oven, fresh homemade brownies, birthday cakes, lemon meringue pie and good old cranberry sauce. These books are part cookbook and part memoir. Humorous stories about growing up in Midwest combined with photos and recipes will be like comfort food for the soul. "Apple Betty & Sloppy Joe celebrates the ways food and food memories link us to our past, and to each other" (Wisconsin Historical Society Press). The authors will have copies of their books for sale and signing.
