APL Obituary Index -- A Work in Progress
This database is a partial index to obituaries and death notices from Appleton newspapers. This project is just beginning. Only the following dates are currently available to be searched:

• Complete from Jan. 1, 2001 to Jul 4, 2008; 1856-60; 1863; 1921; 1940-41; 1948-50; 1960-62; 1964-5; 1967-68; 1981
• Some records from 1853 -55; 1870-71
• Coming soon: 1951

Please note: this is just an index. Actual obituaries and death notices are not available online from the Appleton Public Library. Photocopies of items found in this index can be requested through the Library. The full-text of obituaries from 2002 onward may be available online through Newsbank (available to Appleton or OWLS library card holders only). Learn more about the Obituary Index.

Search Tip: The wildcard character is the percentage sign, %. To bring up all records with last name beginning with Re, for example, Re%. All last names entered with three or fewer letters will automatically have % added.
