Many Appleton Public Library patrons paid their fines with food during the last week of January and the first week of February. Many also donated food and money even though they didn't owe a fine. 

Thanks to everyone who donated and the busy circulation staff, the "Food for Fines" program was a great success! Boxes and boxes of food were collected.

Thanks, too, to the local media for their excellent coverage of the event. The publicity reached many library patrons who responded generously. The food collected by the library was donated to the Salvation Army.
