Fine Print - Summer 2000  Volume XI, Number 2

Shakespeare
William Shakespeare is more popular than ever
! Shakespeare in Love and other contemporary films attest to this fact. His stories are timeless and have given so much to our modern day culture. The library will be celebrating the work of William Shakespeare by offering Understanding Shakespeare, a four-part video/discussion series, on Monday evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm during the month of June. Kelley Duhatschek, an Oshkosh resident who runs the non-profit Rebel Alliance Theatre, will moderate the series. Kelley has been active in theater since age 15 and has been teaching acting for 5 years. She recently received her master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh graduating with an English major which includes an emphasis on Shakespeare.

Understanding Shakespeare Schedule :

June 5th Romeo and Juliet-The story of two star-crossed lovers who defy their families to be together.
June 12 Hamlet: Prince of Denmark-The story of a young prince torn by indecision.
June 19 Othello: The Moor of Venice-The sinister Iago manipulates the trust of Othello causing him to murder his loving wife Desdemona in a fit of jealousy.
June 26 MacBeth-The Story of a good man gone bad, driven to murder by ambition and a power-hungry wife.
