Foundation Grant
for Computer Training Materials
The library has added over 25 new videos to their
computer instruction collection thanks to a grant from the Appleton
Public Library Foundation. These videos which are used for library
staff training are available to library patrons and shelved with
the video collection. They offer content rich training where ever
and whenever it is needed. When it comes to self-paced computer
training, these courses make it easier to learn and retain the maximum
amount of information. The self-paced computer training is popular
with both library staff and the public.
Among the training courses offered is Office 2000, a series offering
the introductory training users need to quickly get started in its
varied applications including Outlook. The function of Outlook is
to improve skills in organization, time management, and communication.
Viewers learn step by step how use Outlook for the first time as
well as how to customize the program for personal use.
Other popular titles include Build Your Own Web Page which teaches
techniques to build basic Web Pages without expensive software or
equipment and Internet Searching Skills which demonstrates how to
navigate the Web with ease. Using logical step by step strategies,
viewers learn how to access, research, evaluate and communicate
vast internet resources into results anyone can use in school, daily
life or in the working world.
