Paintings by Jeff LeMieux
Jeff LeMieux has been a resident of the Fox Valley
since 1984. Jeff is
married with two grown children. He recently graduated from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education with a Master
of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art. He holds several undergraduate
degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy, and is
currently employed as an illustrator for Appleton Coated LLC in
Combined Locks and as a Lecturer in Art at the University of Wisconsin-Fox
Valley where he has a painting studio.
Jeff's artwork has been shown in galleries from
Pennsylvania to Washington State. In describing his artistic goals,
Jeff notes: "I'm working on finding a visual balance between
chaos and order, a fertile zone where anything is possible. I
find that paintings, though static, can act as catalysts for new
ideas. My hope is that the paintings I make keep on giving. By
that I mean that I'm trying to make art that changes each time
you see it. Each time you look, I hope you find something new,
something you didn't notice before. The colors, shapes, and ideas
I use are intended to stimulate thought, interest, and debate
about the nature of order and worth, and to encourage an examination
of our own definitions and values both as individuals and as participants
in a larger human community."
