Laugh It Up @ Your Library
Join us this summer for silly stories, jokes, games,
and humor of all kinds in the books, music and other materials
at the Appleton Public Library. The 2003 Children’s Summer
Reading Program, Laugh It Up @ Your Library, is open to young
people preschool age through elementary school with programming,
prizes, drawings, story times, a reading club and more. We are
also inviting families to join the program for the Read Aloud
portion of the program for children who don’t read independently.
Daycares and school groups are welcome to participate in the program.
Transportation is available on Valley Transit. Registration
begins on June 9, 2003.
A variety of programs will be offered for all ages:
Tom Pease is the opening act on Thursday
June 12, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

July 1 Creative dance – presented by Wendy
Siracusa.
July 8 Laugh your heads off - with Bob Kann
July 15 Getting Excited About Science – with
Steve Belluveau
July 22 Stuart Stotts in Concert
July 29 Harry Potter Magic Event - with Rick Allen
July 31 Harry Potter party celebrating Harry’s
birthday and the newest Harry Potter book - with presenter Linda
De Nell
August 5 Paper Magic program for students. The
students will fold paper airplanes and other toys and animals.
All programs begin at 1:30pm. Free admission.
Story times on Monday evenings at 6:30pm and Tuesday
mornings at 10:30am begin the week of July 7.
The Appleton Library Foundation and Friends of the
Appleton Library sponsor the programs and prizes.
At the end of the summer, the reader’s cup,
a traveling trophy will be awarded to the school that has the
largest percentage of students participating in the children’s
services summer reading program.
