Email Notices
Appleton Public Library is saving money and
offering better service to patrons with reserves to pick up and
overdue materials to bring back by sending their notices by electronic
mail.
During one month this summer the library sent 4,967 notices
by e-mail at a savings of $1,837.79 in postage. During that month,
64% of the library's notices were sent by e-mail.
Patrons have noticed how much faster they receive their notices
when they get them by e-mail. They usually receive their e-mail
notices in one day or less.
Library patrons interested in receiving their overdue and reserve
notices by e-mail should go to http://www.apl.org/libcats/emailnotice.asp and
fill in the form on that internet page.
