Story 2004
Teens – win a private show at Barlow Planetarium
for you and your friends!
Cover Story is the Appleton Public Library's
Summer Library Program for teens entering grades 7-12. To encourage teens to read over the summer,
participants in the program are given review cards asking questions
about each book read. The
completed cards are submitted at the Library’s Information Desk.
Teens then draw tickets for each submitted review to determine
the level for a small incentive prize.
Next, they enter their names for a chance at the large
prizes, which will be presented at a final pizza party August
6th. A special drawing
will be held weekly for the best reviews.
Cover Story allows
each teen to set his or her own pace, and to read books they have
chosen themselves. This is the fourth year for the library’s Summer
Reading Program for teens. This
year's prizes include the Barlow Planetarium show, YMCA of the
Fox Cities memberships, DVD players and gift certificates for
Old Navy, Area 51 Skatepark, and other local businesses.
All prizes were purchased with grants from the Appleton
Library Foundation and the Friends of the Appleton Library.
The program will kick off June 7th at a party featuring
the improvisational comedy group ComedyCity.
