A Spiritual Journey

Are you interested in exploring your own identity, values and attitudes? A Spiritual Journey may provide some answers. Elizabeth Eisen, Community Services Librarian, will lead this five-part book and video discussion series in June. Participants may attend some or all parts of the series. A Spiritual Journey will meet in the lower level meeting room at Appleton Public Library. Admission is free and the series is open to the general public. Registration not required.

 A Spiritual Journey Series Schedule:

June 1st.....10:30 am-12:00 noon
A Spiritual Journey kick-off in conjunction with Creative Journey programming

Includes creative exercises and an overview of the series. Participants should bring a small can of Playdoh (any color), a writing tablet and a pen.

June 8th.....6:30-7:45 pm

Dance of the Spirit: The Seven Steps of Women’s Spirituality by Maria Harris book/discussion
Maria Harris uses questions and exercises to help participants “dance” to their own genuine selfhood. Bring a writing tablet and pen. Books available through the Community Services office.

June 15th.....6:30-7:45 pm
Women and Spirituality: Goddess Remembered video/discussion
An examination of pre-Christian goddess worshipping religions, which offers insights into ancient cultures and explores the contemporary women’s spirituality movement.

June 22nd.....6:30-7:45 pm
Women and Spirituality: The Burning Times video/discussion
Explores the dark episodes in human history known as the witch hunts of 15th and 17th century Europe.

June 29th.....6:30-7:45 pm
Women and Spirituality: Full Circle video/discussion
Focuses on the latest manifestations of women’s spirituality in the Western world, which advocates a reverence for the earth and the healing of our spirits.
