Fine Print -Summer 2005  Volume XVI Number 2

Local Musicians

The Appleton Library can help you relive memories of Octoberfest, Fox Jazz Fest and other great events with its new selection of recordings of local musicians. The wealth of talent in the Fox Cities is evident with the diverse selection a grant from the Appleton Library Foundation has funded.

Regardless of taste, there will be something for you whether you the big name popular bands like Boogie and the Yoyos, Vic Ferrari and Janet Planet or some of the new up-and-coming bands you can hear in the many local live music venues such as The Obsoletes, Left @ Atlantic or Number One Fan. There are also CDs by musicians that have gained national and international acclaim such as those by Patrice Michaels, Dale Duesing, Rachel Segal and Matt Turner.

These gifted artists will broaden your horizons and make you grateful to live in a community that so many talented individuals call home.

If you have questions or are a local musician that would like to donate recordings to the collection, contact the Audiovisual Librarian, Colleen Rortvedt at 832-6175.
