Cover Story: Teen Summer Library Program

June 9 – August 4, 2006

With the help of the Appleton Library Foundation, Cover Story, is back again this year with some exceptional grand prizes including an ipod and gift card to Barnes & Noble.  How does a teen get a chance to win one of these excellent prizes?  By registering for Teen Summer Library Program of course!  Teens read and review books, winning small prizes for each book they read.  For each book they read they also get to enter into the grand prize drawing of their choice.

Cover Story starts on June 9th with a Kick-off Party at 3:00 pm featuring the hilarious improv of Comedy City.  Teens can register at the Information Desk, but no reviews will be accepted until June 9th.  Cover Story ends on August 4th with a Pizza Party and the much anticipated Grand Prize Drawings!  Come find out if you’re the lucky ipod winner!

Check out our website, teen.apl.org, for complete details and rules for Cover Story!

This summer the Library will have a film series just for Teens on Friday afternoons.  Both Anime Films and Feature Films will be shown.  On June 16th we will show The Galaxy Railways (anime) and on June 30th, The Chronicles of Narnia.  July 13th will feature Yu Yu Hakusho (anime) and on July 28th The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.  Finally on August 11th we will watch Whisper of the Heart (anime) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on August 25th.  Films begin at 1:00 pm and go until they are done.  Admission is free and snacks will be provided.  Check out our website, teen.apl.org, or the Teen Programming list (in this issue) for exact dates and film lengths.
