The Appleton Public Library will celebrate its Grand Re-Opening beginning Saturday, September 7 with a Dedication Ceremony at 9:15 am. Throughout the day on September 7 there will be family activities at the library including special presentations by children's author George Shannon, internet and online catalog demonstrations, tours of the expanded facility, special displays and information booths, as well as musical entertainment.
Throughout the week of September 9-13, the library staff has scheduled children's storytimes, a Fall Film Festival movie, and other programming which will culminate Friday night, September 13 with a special presentation by historian and author Stephen Ambrose at 7:00 pm at the library.Ambrose is the author of biographies of Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon. His current book, Undaunted Courage, the story of how Thomas Jefferson sponsored Lewis and Clark's exploration, is a New York Times bestseller.
