Lucia Baehman, Chair of the Appleton Library Board of Trustees Scholarship Committee, has announced a fund-raising drive to expand the principal of the Frank P. Young Memorial Fund. The interest monies from the Fund are given as a grant each year to a student completing his or her work for a graduate degree in Library Science.
The amount of the Frank P. Young Scholarship given is $500. Baehman would like to see the principal increased so that $1000 could be awarded in future years. Contributions have been solicited from previous recipients of the scholarship. The fund drive is now being extended to the entire Appleton community.
Checks made out to "City of Appleton" and indicating their intention for the Frank P. Young Memorial Fund can be mailed to Frank P. Young Memorial Fund Appleton Public Libray 225 N. Oneida St. Appleton, WI 54911. Questions can be directed to Community Services, Appleton Public Library, 832-1695.
