As a means of recognizing individuals and businesses who have contributed to the Appleton Library Foundation, a bookcase with wooden books with nameplates on their spines has been placed on the first floor of the library. The bookcase concept for the donor recognition was created by Charlie Kurt of Durrant, the architects who designed the library's recent expansion.
Unique Furnishings built the book case and the wooden books. Appleton Trophy engraved the nameplates.
The shelves of the bookcase are labelled to indicate the levels of giving in the following manner:
| Shelf 1: | Pinnacle | $100,000+ |
| Shelf 2: | Trustee | $50,000-$99,999 |
| Shelf 3: | Founder | $10,000-$49,999 |
| Shelf 4: | Supporter | $5,000-$9,999 |
| Shelf 5: | Benefactor | $1,500-$4,999 |
| Shelf 6: | Patron | $1,000-$1,499 |
| Shelf 7: | Donor | $500-$999 |
Individuals and businesses who contributed between $1 and $499 are listed in a contributor book that sits on the bookcase.
The Donor Recognition Committee of the Board of the Foundation was chaired by Kate Dugan. Joyce Bytof and Don Churchill also served on the Committee.
