Two University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Library and Information Studies students are this year's recipients of $500 scholarships from the Frank P. Young Memorial Fund. Virginia Moran Heinrich, Woodbury, MN and Mary Bachhuber, Appleton were chosen by the Scholarship Committee of the library's Board of Trustees. Heinrich is the librarian of the Literacy Training Network Resource Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Bachhuber, who also is a Walking Books volunteer, taught Social Studies at Kaukauna High School.
The Frank P. Young Memorial Fund was established at the Appleton Public Library in September, 1969 in memory of Mr. Young whose life work and interest was in helping young people obtain a better education and in furthering library service in our communities.
This year's Scholarship Committee was chaired by Lee Parker. Deb Matz and Eloise Loebach served on the committee with her.
