| How to Request
a Photocopy of an Obituary
The Library owns microfilm of most Appleton
newspapers going back to 1853. On request, we will be happy to make
copies of obituaries and death notices. The charge for copying is
$5.00 for up to three obituaries and $1.00 for each additional obituary.
Copies will be sent by mail or email (as requested), and a bill will be included with the
copies. Fax is not available.
Using the Online Obituary Index
First search the index by name. From the
first results screen, click on the person's Last Name to
view an individual record. From this screen, click on Request
a Photocopy.
For years NOT
yet covered by the Index
If you know a person's death date, the library will search in Appleton
newspapers (up to seven days after the death date) for an obituary
or death notice. Please use this form to request
an obituary search for years not covered in the online index.
We're sorry, but we cannot search without a date of death.
