"Talk, Sing, Read, Write, Play -- Everyday!" This handout provides early literacy guidelines for you to use with your children. Every Child Ready to Read is not a program at the library, but a resource describing the importance of talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing with your child at different developmental levels.

Explore the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics through hands on activities and experiments. Each program will excite the imagination and curiosity of future scientists, artists and mathematicians. While geared toward preschoolers, siblings are always welcome to attend.

Musical Movin' Storytime

Help your child develop pre-reading skills, social skills and confidence through interactive, play-centered learning. Each week we will explore a different theme through sensory activities, dramatic play, crafts, books, games and fun! Siblings welcome.

A storytime for children on the Autism Spectrum. The program is designed developmentally for 4-8 year olds.

Important Details:

  • When you register for the program the library, please mention any high interest areas (so that they might be included in the program). Special accomodations can also be made at this time.
  • A parent or therapist must accompany each child.
  • Siblings are welcome to attend but must be supervised by an additional adult.
  • This program will use visual supports and high interest activities to engage the children. A "break" room will be provided for children having difficulty participating with the group. Fidget sensory toys and seating cushions will also be available.

Storyvine

When:

 Join Children's Services Staff for a program for children, families and childcare providers. Come for stories, music and movement, fingerplays, and an occasional short animated story or puppet play. While geared towards childcare providers, families are always welcome to attend.  No registration required.  There is no program on April 2.
