Ducklow called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM. He stated that the purpose of the special meeting was to reconsider the position taken by the Appleton Library Board at the March 26, 1996 special meeting. He then opened the meeting for public input. There was extensive discussion. Oscar Boldt offered to demolish the old City Hall for free if the space were to be made available for parking. Larry Kath noted that AAL parking could not be made available for library users.
Ducklow closed the public portion of the meeting. Discussion then commenced among Library Board members. It was moved by De Vries and seconded by Bergen to reconsider the Board's reolution supporting the compromise agreement on the sale of the old City Hall building. Motion carried unanimously (6-0).
Bubolz moved that the board adopt a resolution stating that the Library Board request that the City give the old City Hall building to the Library, which shall raise funds to raze the building and deed it to the parking utility. The motion was seconded by Jeanette. Motion carried unanimously (6-0).
Meeting was adjourned by Ducklow at 8:20 pm.
