Smoking Policy
 adopted March 12, 2003

Purpose: Patrons of the library have the right to use materials and services without being unduly disturbed or impeded by other users. While patrons and staff have the right to a secure and congenial environment, smoking and second-hand smoke pose a health risk and create an unpleasant environment for non-smokers
  1. Smoking or chewing tobacco by the public is not permitted in the Library.
  2. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on Library property.
  3. Staff who observe persons in violation should see that they are informed of the policy and ask them to comply. In case of non-compliance, staff may summon the Police to cite violators for trespassing. Repeat or flagrant offenders may forfeit library use privileges.
- adopted by Library Board of Trustees, March 12, 2003
