  1. Ready to Read: Play and Learn - Hispanic Edition

  2. Iditaread

    When: 
    March 1, 2015 - March 31, 2015
    Registration is required.

    Check out our March reading program, Iditaread - based on the annual Alaskan Race, the Iditarod. Children ages 3 through 6th grade are welcome to participate in challenges between March 1 – 31 for an entry in a drawing for a stuffed husky, as well as small incentive prizes!  Simply print out your reading log and fill out the form below to get started!  Teachers in schools and childcares are welcome to sign up their classrooms to participate.  Contact Ellen at ejepson@apl.org or 920-832-6020 to get started.

  3. Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead

    Explore the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics through hands on activities and experiments. Each program will excite the imagination and curiosity of future scientists, artists and mathematicians. While geared toward preschoolers, siblings are always welcome to attend.

  4. B.E.A.R. Bingo: Be Excited About Reading!

    When: 
    November 1 - November 30
    Registration is required.
    Registration Details: 

    Register at the library or online starting November 1.

    Complete five activities across, vertically, or diagonally to get BINGO! Cross out activities that you complete. You may read to yourself, read to someone else or listen to books. You may complete five BINGOs for up to five spins of the wheel. Five BINGOs also earns a chance at a final drawing. A blackout on the BINGO board earns a second chance in the drawing. One BINGO sheet per child. November 30 is the last day to pick up prizes.  Registration is required. 

    This program is ideal for students in classroom settings. Exceptions for prize pickup after November 30 will be made for teachers who are picking up prizes for their students. Contact Ellen at ejepson@apl.org or call 920-832-6020 to register your classroom, rather than using the online form. You will be emailed a PDF of the Bingo board to use with your students.

  5. Every Child Ready to Read

    "Talk, Sing, Read, Write, Play -- Everyday!" This handout provides early literacy guidelines for you to use with your children. Every Child Ready to Read is not a program at the library, but a resource describing the importance of talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing with your child at different developmental levels.

  7. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

    When: 
    All Year
    Registration is required.
    Registration Details: 

    Register below, then print out a reading log.  You cannot earn prizes unless you are registered.

     

    Pick up your sheets at the Children's Service Desk or print them from our webpage. Redeem each sheet of 100 books at the Children's Service Desk for a small prize. When you redeem the last sheet, for books 900-1,000, you'll receive another prize and a certificate for finishing. We will check registration before handing out the last prize and certificate.

  9. Storyvine

    When: 
    Wednesdays | 9:15-9:45 am OR 10:00-10:30 am | September 17 - December 3

     Join Children's Services Staff for a program for children, families and childcare providers. Come for stories, music and movement, fingerplays, and an occasional short animated story or puppet play. While geared towards childcare providers, families are always welcome to attend.  No registration required.  There is no program on July 2.
