Pres. Bloedow called the meeting to order at 7:06 AM. There was extensive discussion of the parking situation and concerns over the sale of the old City Hall. Dawson reviewed the Library's site selection process, and current and future space plans and parking needs. Detjen reviewed the situation from the point of view of Community Development.
Dawson reviewed a proposed compromise agreement he had worked out with Detjen and the Supple brothers, purchasers of the property. There was discussion of the proposal.
DeVries thanked those involved in the compromise and urged that negotiations continue to explore more options and attempt to keep all the parking in City ownership. He also stated that we should work with the City and the purchaser of City Hall to try to find a "win-win-win" scenario. Bubolz spoke of the need for clear communications among City staff, Library staff and Board members.
Bloedow appointed the following to a special committee to continue to pursue the issue: Bubolz, Churchill, DeVries, Siebers and himself. A meeting of the special committee was set for 3 PM on March 19.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 AM.
